Origami Singing

Διαδραστική εγκατάσταση.  Οι αισθητήρες ενός μικροϋπολογιστή προσαρμοσμένου στο οριγκάμι καταγράφουν τις μετατοπίσεις του και η πληροφορία αυτή μεταφράζεται σε ήχους και μουσική.

Το έργο εντάσσεται σ΄ ένα θεωρητικό πλαίσιο που περιλαμβάνει την εκπαίδευση S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics), το κίνημα "D.I.Y. / D.I.T." (Do It Yourself / Do It Together) και τη "δημιουργική κουλτούρα" ("maker culture"). Η στάση αυτή ενέχει μία πολιτική εναντίωση στην κυρίαρχη κουλτούρα της μαζικής κατανάλωσης και ομοιομορφίας. Εκφράζει την έμφυτη περιέργεια που οδηγεί στην ανακάλυψη του κόσμου μέσα από το παιχνίδι.

The "Origami singing" is an interactive installation. Sensors of a BBC microbit micro-controller attached to the Origami collect data of its movements. Τhis information is then processed into sounds and music.

The project is part of a theoretical framework that includes S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics), the "D.I.Y. / D.I.T" and "maker culture" movement.  This attitude also involves a political opposition to the dominant culture of mass consumption and uniformity. It expresses the innate curiosity that leads to the discovery of the world through play.
